ABOUT ME
Welcome, friends! My name is Shundeena Beard. I am a musician and educator. I teach at Baden Academy Charter School in western Pennsylvania and am also a private Violin and Viola Instructor.
My background includes a B.A. in viola performance and music education from the prestigious Peabody Institute of Music at Johns Hopkins University. I am the recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke award in 2010 when I appeared on the NPR nationwide American program "From The Top" Live at Carnegie Hall. I teach my students (both those at Baden Academy and outside students) not only a love of music, but a firm foundation in music theory. This project, Upbeat Animations, is a chance for my students that are technology minded to explore music theory in new ways and apply their musicality to 21st century virtual worlds. This project was made possible as a research fellowship through Baden Academy with Grow a Generation. I was named a 2017 Distinquished Educator. |
